Several people have been injured in a stabbing attack on a shopping street in The Hague, Dutch police say.
The incident took place on a busy shopping street in the center of the city. In the London attack, police have described the attack that has so far left two people dead as a "terrorist incident".
It was unclear whether any of the wounds were life-threatening, Marije Kuiper said.
Dutch media played down speculation about a terror motive but said police were still keeping an open mind about the incident, which came hours after two people were stabbed to death in a terror-related attack in London.
Dutch police block a shopping street in The Hague, Netherlands, Nov. 29, 2019. Because of Black Friday sales, there were unusually large crowds in that part of the city.
The suspect was believed to be in his late 40s, a police source told the Telegraph.
The acting mayor of The Hague says children were among the three injured.
"My heart goes out to them, their loved ones and to everybody affected", he said in a statement. "Terrorism will never win". "I will be attending the government's emergency COBRA meeting tonight".
