Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 4 pm until 8 am Tuesday

Winter Weather Advisory Issued For The Lansing Area

National Weather Service Warns Drivers to Prepare for Snow Monday and Tuesday

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Monday from 9:00 a.m.to 6:00 p.m. EST.

The snow will slowly taper off from the west later Monday, probably continuing in NW Indiana tonight into Tuesday. It's possible we could see some light snow again late in the day Wednesday and Wednesday night, but that will likely be minor. High near 36. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. Heavier snowfall expected closer to the Highway 30 to Interstate 80 corridor.

Single digit wind chills are possible Tuesday morning and again Wednesday morning. Plan for slippery road conditions.

While most of southern lower MI, northwest OH and northern are under a Winter Weather Advisory, Berrien and Cass are under a Winter Storm Warning. The hazardous conditions will likely impact the afternoon commute. "So it's a quick transition from cold rain... to wet snow... to over", Hudson Vally Weather wrote on its website.

"The worst weather can be expected after sunset Monday through about sunrise Tuesday", according to Drew Montreuil of Finger Lakes Weather. The temperatures will keep the snow frozen, so there will be little chance for melted slow and slush to cause any issues. As temperatures drop, we'll see more and more snowflakes make their way to the surface.
