Hunter Biden, the 49-year-old son of the Democratic presidential candidate, revealed his plan in an internet post written by his lawyer, George Mesires, who outlined a defence of the younger Mr Biden's work in Ukraine and China, which has emerged as one of Mr Trump's chief lines of attack against Hunter's father despite no proof of impropriety.
Early Tuesday, Hunter Biden, who once worked for a Ukrainian energy company, broke his silence, telling ABC News in an interview that while he may have exercised poor judgment in his business dealings in Ukraine and China, he broke no laws. "Yeah. And so I take, I take full responsibility for that". Do I, did I do anything improper? "I'm here and I'm working and I'm living my life", Hunter Biden retorted from his Los Angeles home.
Trump in a July 25 phone call asked Zelensky to launch an investigation into Hunter Biden's work for Burisma.
Hunter Biden, 39, announced he will resign from the board of BHR (Shanghai) Equity Investment Fund Management Company at the end of the month following President Donald Trump's accusations of corruption with the state-backed firm in 2013.
Biden Jr. said in the interview that the administration has spread a "ridiculous conspiracy theory" about his work in Ukraine.
Byrne's concerns stem from increased attention into Hunter Biden's role as a paid board member for a Ukrainian gas company, Burisma Holdings, at a time when his father was Vice President.
"Elections in the US should be decided by Americans, and it's not the business of foreign countries, any foreign countries, to be interfering in our elections", he continued.
One of Mr Biden's Democratic presidential rivals praised the move, noting that Mr Trump's children are openly trading on his name in business deals around the world while Mr Trump occupies the Oval Office.

At the same time, he acknowledged that he had made a mistake by joining the company and added that he never expected it to cause so much trouble for his father's political endeavours.
A Biden spokesman told CNN the campaign has no additional comment on the statement from Hunter Biden's lawyer.
The amendment would overturn Citizens United and mean public financing for all campaigns and Biden also proposes to provide cash to match small donations.
Trump's July 25 phone call to his Ukrainian counterpart seeking help in investigating the Bidens, and the discredited charge by Trump that the former U.S. vice president intervened in Ukraine to protect his son Hunter, has roiled the race and put Biden in the spotlight.
Trump has focused on Hunter Biden in recent days, and tweeted Sunday, "Where is Hunter Biden?"
Hunter Biden was discharged from the Navy Reserve in 2014 after failing a drug test and has struggled with alcohol and drug abuse.
