Defence minister Rajnath Singh and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu have made statements in this regard in the recent past after Pakistan sought to internationalise the Kashmir issue. "[Azad Kashmir] is part of India and we expect one day that we will have the jurisdiction, physical jurisdiction over it", Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar told a news conference.
In an obvious reference to Pakistan, Jaishankar said, "We have a unique challenge from one neighbour and that would remain a challenge so until that neighbour becomes a normal neighbour and acts against cross-border terrorism".
