Lack of depth concerns Crystal Palace boss Hodgson

Crystal Palace Coach Roy Hodgson Hails Jordan Ayew's Brilliance

Crystal Palace midfielder Jeffrey Schlupp has backed compatriot and club-mate Jordan Ayew to maintain his scoring form in the Premier League.

Jordan Ayew because he was actually one of the success stories during Villa's fatal Premier League campaign in 2015-16 and is likely to lead the line for the hosts in the final outing before the worldwide break.

After securing a rare victory at Manchester United last weekend, the Eagles had just about enough against a Villa side which played a man short for more than a half-hour following the sending off of Trezeguet.

Despite Palace picking up two wins on the bounce with success over Aston Villa, their manager is not entirely pleased.

The visitors thought they had rescued a late point as substitute Henri Lansbury smashed home but referee Kevin Friend pulled play back and booked indignant Villa captain Jack Grealish for simulation.

'The word that keeps cropping up is frustration, ' he said.

"We will try and take it on the chin".

'The attitude and industry we showed was different class.

The 27-year old scored the victor against his former club as the Eagles recorded back to back wins in the English Premier League. Last season, he didn't get as many opportunities as he would like to have had.

"Never once did he stop trying to do the right things in training". To create as good a chance as we did at the end and have it taken away, it's tough to take. It's one step at a time and we'll just continue.
