Justice Department officials have pledged they will continue investigating, and could still bring charges against anyone found to have conspired with Epstein.

Epstein was supposed to be checked on regularly.

Both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Justice Department's Inspector General are investigating the circumstances around Epstein's death.

Rodgers also noted that on March 31, 2001, all four people took a flight on Epstein's jet from Santa Fe to Palm Beach, California.

It also says a non-U.S. citizen worked for Epstein as a sex recruiter, and the billionaire arranged for the victim to marry her in NY after same-sex marriage was legalized, to allow the recruiter to legally remain in the United States.

Kathleen Hawk Sawyer, a psychologist, had previously served as the BOP director for over a decade, after an appointment in 1992 by Barr, then in his first stint as attorney general. The center's warden and two guards had already been reassigned pending an investigation. "A number of them required having union representatives and lawyers".

The guards on Epstein's unit failed to check on him every half hour, as required, and are suspected of falsifying log entries to show they had, according to several people familiar with the matter.

All said the abuse continued after Epstein reached a deal with Florida federal prosecutors in 2007.

The politically connected billionaire was arrested in July on charges of sex trafficking of minors and conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking of minors.

Over the years, the financier hobnobbed with politicians, socialites and celebrities, including Donald Trump before he was president and Bill Clinton.

The enlisted properties include the pedophile's Caribbean oasis in the US Virgin Islands, where the court document was filed, Great St James in the Virgin Islands, worth more than $22 million, and Little St James Island, worth almost $63 million.
