Pokemon Sword and Shield debuts Galarian forms, new Pokemon

A new Pokémon Sword and Shield trailer was released today, and it's pretty interesting.

The most recent Galar Research Update brought news on Gigantamaxing, the Galar Pokemon League, and on the game's Gym Leaders, among other details.

Nintendo has dropped a new trailer for Pokémon Sword and Shield, revealing brand new Pokémon, evolutions, new Galarian forms and a new antagonistic group, Team Yell.

Different Pokemon forms are nothing new to the series, as various regions impact how these critters evolve. Marnie also has a legion of fans behind her as the new team for the players to fight: Team Yell is a bunch of rockers that are Marnie's biggest fans.

Bede looks like he came off the runway at London Fashion Week, while Marnie looks like she's rocking her own punk band a la GBH in the 80s. These are essentially the same concept as Alolan Pokemon with the adorable little creatures from previous games having their own unique look for the region. It's a Poison/Fairy type with the Levitate ability and one mystery ability. There's also a Galarian evolution line of Zigzagoon which is colour black and white as is Galarian Linoone.

Galarian Weezing will be joined by Galarian Zigzagoon, a dark/normal dual-type that evolves into Galarian Linoone, just as you'd expect. In addition to being able to store your extra Pokemon here, the Rotomi appears to serve a similar goal as job boards in other RPGs, letting you browse through a list of available Poke Jobs. It's unclear as of yet how many Pokemon will appear in the game, but we know you won't be able to transfer every old monster to them-a decision that has proven so controversial that the games' producer, Junichi Masuda, had to issue a statement addressing the drama. Morpeko in Full belly form is Electric, and in Hangry Mode he is Dark!
