Tommy And Molly-Mae Address Rumours They’ve Already Split Following Fan Speculation

The Guardian view on reality TV: show contestants some love

Love Island finalists land at Stansted on return to UK ahead of Sunday's TV reunion special

This made it the most watched Love Island final ever and the most viewed episode of the series, which has been a ratings triumph for the channel.

The four remaining couples - Amber and Greg, Maura and Curtis, Molly-Mae and Tommy and India and Ovie all got seriously choked-up as they delivered their declarations of love.

20-year-old boxer Tommy and 19-year-old influencer Molly were beaten to the £50,000 prize by Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea, and Elma explained that the runners up were tiresome to watch.

For instance, fans claimed she faked tears when Molly-Mae and Tommy agreed to take the next step and move in together.

The figures might not be as impressive as last year's winners Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham, who scored a huge 79.66 per cent of the public vote.

"Did anyone else notice how maura was fuming when greg and amber won aha #LoveIsland", a second wrote.

He also had a bromance with professional dancer Curtis Pritchard, who is the brother of Strictly Come Dancing star AJ, and was teased by his co-stars for his poor dancing and cooking skills. She then coupled up with Michael but he dumped her during the Casa Amor twist.

Despite being together for just 12 days, as the winning couple, the pair got to play for the £50,000 prize fund.

And when host Caroline Flack announced that Amber and Greg were the winners after knowing each other for less than two weeks, Maura couldn't hide her hilarious reaction as she looked towards Ovie Soko utterly stunned.

As a result, Amber & Greg each left the villa with £25,000.

"You picked me up when I was at my most vulnerable and helped me to rediscover my smile", she said.

The show, now in its fifth year, has proved such a hit that it has been confirmed to run for two series in 2020, with a winter show in South Africa.

The summer of love is not over yet - Love Island: The Reunion will air on Sunday (August 4) at 9pm on ITV2.
