Andrew Brettler, an attorney for the couple, said Beth Chapman died early Wednesday morning at Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu, following a almost two-year battle with cancer.

But in September 2017, they used their Facebook account to announce Chapman had been diagnosed with Stage 2 throat cancer.

Chapman was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2017 after visiting the doctor about a persistent cough.

Beth's youngest daughter Bonnie has been fairly active on social media and has been tweeting quite a bit today, mourning the loss of her mom.

He wrote on Twitter, without elaborating on which ones, that 90 percent "of what you're hearing is fake news".

Chapman was hospitalized in Honolulu Friday after having difficulty breathing and passing out momentarily. Prior to her death, she was placed in a medically induced coma, a family rep confirmed to Fox News on Monday.

Born Alice Elizabeth Smith in Denver, Chapman had lived in Honolulu since 1989.
