The Golden State Warriors came up short in the NBA Finals and saw superstar Kevin Durant suffer a serious injury, leaving in question the future of the Warriors' dynasty. While Durant suffered a severe injury, the Knicks look to be willing to pursue Durant as long as he is on the market.

One of the things Kerr talked about was the impending free agency of injured star forward Kevin Durant. Three of the four largest bets the SuperBook had taken on next year's championship were on the Lakers, including a $4,000 bet placed in early June at 18-1.
Demarcus Cousins: He might not have helped his stock as much as he would've hoped in signing with the Warriors for a year, but he'll likely wind up being a fallback option for the teams that aren't able to sign the Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irvings of the world.
The issue here is Durant will officially be a free agent in a few weeks and no one knows where he'll go.
"I'm hurting deeply, but I'm OK", Durant wrote. "[He'll earn] $31.5 million next season - that's really if you couldn't find any other team to commit to you on a contract".
The MRI results confirmed that Durant had ruptured his Achilles tendon and he immediately underwent surgery to fix it.
Sure, Kevin Durant only played 12 minutes in the Finals and Klay Thompson missed Game 3, but they still have Steph Curry, Draymond Green, Thompson, Andre Iguodala and plenty of rings and experience.
