Chelsea Supporters Trust criticise club over Europa League final arrangements

Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has decided not to play in the Europa League final in Baku over security fears

Both Premier League giants were said to have failed to sell out the tickets allocated to them by UEFA for the final battle in Azerbaijan.

Sarri is also without defender Antonio Rudiger, whose season was ended by an operation to fix the meniscus in his left leg, and winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, who ruptured his Achilles during a 2-2 draw with Burnley in April.

"When you play a final, it does not matter whether it is the Champions League, Europa League or League Cup, you just want to win, you just want to bring the trophy home and celebrate that".

Arsenal Boss, Unai Emery has made a move to fly to the Baku early, going two days ahead of Chelsea, for their Europa League Final preparations.

"But I believe in my team and every single player and I believe we are good enough to beat them".

UEFA have been unable to adequately guarantee Mkhitaryan's safety and security during the Gunners' stay in Baku, leaving the 30-year-old feeling he was unable to make the trip. I think I can still improve.

'If you see his first season, it was great, in my opinion, and if you can win a trophy and go back to the Champions League then I think it's the ideal season'.

However, it is not only a first European trophy for 25 years at stake for Arsenal, but also a much-needed return to the riches of the Champions League after a two-season absence that will make or break the impression of Emery's debut campaign.

"I just remember running into the crowd, it was like the best buzz ever", said Bridge. I remember (manager, Claudio) Ranieri crying on the side of the pitch.

Chelsea have replaced them as the dominant force in the capital, winning five titles, the Champions League and the Europa League.

"That for me was one of the highlights of my career".

"Even when you play against Chelsea, it's the Europa League, it's a final so it's going to be different than the games we played in the Premier League".

Furthermore, Chelsea's third-place in the Premier league table might look impressive, but they finished 25 points behind runners-up Liverpool and were thankful that Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, along with Arsenal, stumbled badly.

"If football allows itself to be stopped by such tensions, then we will not be able to organise anything in future", said Ceferin.
