Avengers: Endgame is on track to become the highest grossing movie of all time. The Endgame is expected to overtake the global gross collection of Titanic, $2.188 billion (including 2012's 3-D re-release) today, May 5.
New films picked up scraps at the domestic box office, including The Intruder, with $11 million, Long Shot, with $10 million, and Uglydolls with $8.5 million. However, it is still behind Avengers: Infinity War ($2.048 billion ) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($2.068 billion).
With such massive figures, Avengers: Endgame has bagged two more records at the box office. But nothing is impossible as this movie keeps raking in audiences and plenty of repeat business.
It is now a given that Avengers: Endgame will be among the top 4 highest-grossing movies of all-time, but it can still be challenged. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Endgame raked in $145.8 million domestically and $282.2 million overseas in its second weekend. Avatar previously held the record after meeting the $2 million mark after 47 days. So far, the three-hour runtime doesn't seem to be stopping anyone from seeing it again. Its U.S. box office is already over $619 million, and it has another massive $1.569 billion from worldwide audiences, with its Chinese box office at a whopping $575 million. It has now earned $103 million globally. Frankly, we probably give too much of a damn. The consensus reads, "Exciting, entertaining, and emotionally impactful, Avengers: Endgame does whatever it takes to deliver a satisfying finale to Marvel's epic Infinity Saga". The voices of Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas, Wanda Sykes and Janelle Monae are featured.
Avengers: Endgame is now playing.
Disney is projected to have a dominant year at the box office. With Detective Pikachu coming to theaters next week, it's fairly unlikely, but Endgame has proven that nothing is impossible for this movie.
