Rockets' Harden wants 'a fair chance' from refs

Numbers preview: Golden State Warriors (1) vs. Houston Rockets (4)

OFFICIAL: Klay Thompson, Steph Curry listed as questionable for Game 1

Whistled for four fouls three times and five fouls once in the six-game first-round series against the Clippers, he got into trouble again Sunday in Game 1 of the second-round series against the Rockets.

Draymond Green argues with referee Zach Zarba during the first half.

Clint Capela can be a game changer for the Rockets.

Game 6 of the Warriors-Clippers series is Friday night. He finished with just 4 points and 6 rebounds, and Houston was outscored by 17 points when he was on the floor.

"When we were in L.A. and he picked up his fourth foul, I asked him, 'Steph, where's your mom?'" said Kerr, per Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle.

"I just want a fair chance, man. Call the game how it's supposed to be called and that's it, and I'll live with the results", Harden said.

But claiming injustice after games, putting together videos against a specific team and taking the case to the National Basketball Association suggests the Rockets are, as general manager Darryl Morey has acknowledged, "obsessed" with the Warriors.

Harden averaged 27.8 points in the first round against the Jazz, but he struggled at times to get going offensively. These were the two best offenses in the league during the regular season - one way or another, they'll score enough points to stay in it.

"I don't know, I've been part of six teams as a player and now two as an executive or coach", he added. In the two game he had less than a dozen combined assists and attempted to take on the skill set of a superhero and win the game all by his lonesome. "You can't give a guy like that confidence".

No team can hang with the Warriors when they're focused and motivated, but at times they were looking past the Clippers and it cost them a couple of games that would be disastrous from this point onwards with the level of competition stepping up.

Team effort 'We're not getting ahead of ourselves. They'll know that every call will be met with probably more scorn and disbelief than usual after the way the Rockets were angered in Game 1.

On Sunday, Klay Thompson played in his 109th straight playoff game. On paper, the Warriors should have no trouble taking down the Rockets, or any team for that matter, but I think the well-rested Rockets kick off this series with a hard-fought win by single digits in what should be a chippy affair. "You're going to have to go through them some way, whether it's in the second round, third round", D'Antoni said. He ran over to [referee David Guthrie] and said, 'Tell me what I have to do to defend that better, ' and he got a T. "They may feel great", D'Antoni said.
