Twitch Prime members can get Nintendo Switch Online for free

Twitch Prime gives away a free year of Nintendo Switch Online to subscribers

Twitch Prime & Nintendo Offer One Year of Free Nintendo Switch Online

Amazon has partnered up with Nintendo, and up until September 24, Amazon Prime members can get 12 months of Nintendo Switch Online for free via the Twitch Prime package.

For context, Twitch Prime is part of Amazon Prime, which costs $12.99 per month. It was the first time you probably discovered you could play your childhood favourite Super Mario Bros. games on-the-go. If you've already got an NSO subscription, there's no need to worry as additional months can be added on. Currently, you can head over to the promotion's page and claim the first three months free.

While Twitch has yet to speak out on this finding, their partnership with Nintendo marks a big win for players looking to test out their online service before making any monetary commitments.

At the same time, Amazon is getting wise to people who use the trial window for Prime to claim the best perks. A credit card (Visa/Mastercard) or PayPal account is required for users age 18 and up.

Q: How do I claim this offer? It's a great benefit either way, as Twitch Prime comes free with Amazon Prime anyway. If you're already an Amazon Prime member, click "Sign In" to link your Twitch and Amazon accounts and activate your Twitch Prime membership.

Twitch has set up a full page explaining the details of the deal, with an FAQ to sort out any confusion that might arise from different membership types. With the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app, you can also voice chat during your play sessions.

Enter your Amazon or Twitch login information.

Q: When does this offer expire?

You can claim the first free 3 months of Switch Online right now, and to unlock the other 9 months you have to remain a Prime member for 2 months (60 days). The nine-month membership will no longer be available after January 22, 2020.
