Dallas Mavs Traded Harrison Barnes To Sacramento Kings Mid-Game

UNC Alumni in NBA: Harrison Barnes, Justin Jackson part of Kings-Mavs trade

LeBron James calls out Mavericks for trading Harrison Barnes in the middle of a game

Harrison Barnes usually lingers after home games.

James posted a video of Barnes's reaction and wrote: "So let me guess this is cool cause they had to do what was best for the franchise right???" Barnes was on the court, and the game was tied at 68, but Charlotte took an unrelated timeout moments later. I'm OK with both honestly.

The Mavericks agreed to send him to the Sacramento Kings in return for Zach Randolph and Justin Jackson less than 24 hours before the trade window closed.

The Kings have been active in the lead-up to the deadline, also agreeing Wednesday to acquire Alec Burks from the Cleveland Cavaliers as part of a three-way deal with the Houston Rockets.

Davis will not sign an extension with New Orleans and wants to be traded, agent Rich Paul told ESPN in late January.

LeBron James wants the "narrative" around player movement to change. Barnes spent four seasons with the Golden State Warriors before joining the Mavericks in 2016.

LeBron is furious players are always being brought down by fans for trying to do what's best for them, but it's seemingly just fine for a franchise to treat players like crap.

Barnes started and had three points in 17 minutes in the first half.

Barnes is no sure bet to opt-in next season. "He's obviously got bonds with some of these players here for life, and that's the kind of guy that he is".

The trade deadline has, somehow, still not passed.

Barnes was in his third Mavericks season and had been one of Dallas' top two scorers each year.

National Basketball Association veteran Harrison Barnes looked just as shocked as everyone else when he learned during the middle of the game against the Charlotte Hornets that he was being traded to the Sacramento Kings. That deal added the considerable 2019-20 season salaries of Hardaway ($18.1 million) and Lee ($12.7 million), seemingly inhibiting Dallas from making a significant summer acquisition.
