Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Schools Joe Lieberman Over Remarks That She’s Too ‘Controversial’

Former Democratic vice presidential candidate and general curmudgeon Joe Lieberman is a former Senator best known for bucking his party by supporting conservative positions. Instead she shot back, tweeting, "New party, who dis?".

"She needs to decide: Does she want to be an effective legislator or just continue being a Twitter star?" said one House Democrat who's in lockstep with Ocasio Cortez's ideology.

They also quoted Democrats, such as Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) saying things like this: "I'm sure Ms. Cortez means well, but there's nearly an outstanding rule: Don't attack your own people".

(Washington Examiner) Freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's campaign was fined $1,500 by NY for failing to provide workers' compensation coverage for a month in early 2018.

According to Politico, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) said, "I'm sure Ms. Cortez means well, but there's nearly an outstanding rule: Don't attack your own people". 'Honestly, if the Democrats had 3 more of her, Americans would run away so fast that we'd have a power monopoly until she's Lieberman's age'.

There is a stark contrast between Ocasio-Cortez's style and freshman congressman Dan Crenshaw's (R-Texas) as both of their names have been in the media several times. "There's a difference between being an activist and a lawmaker in Congress".

Lieberman said Thursday that she's too "left-left" to help the Democratic Party be a sustainable political powerhouse.

"The so-called champion of workers, when given her own responsibility, is not following the law".

"She's new here, feeling her way around", Rep. Kurt Schrader (D-OR) said. I think she has matured.

'If you look at the majority of new Democrats in the House, ' he said, 'they tend to be - I say, center-left. and that is because they had to be center-left to win some of those competitive swing districts that they took from Republicans'.

"Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's surprise primary victory over Rep. Joe Crowley seems likely to hurt Congress, America and the Democratic Party".
