Bucks deal for Cavs' Hill

Salary cap analysis: George Hill acquisition gives Bucks...

Update: 3rd team enters Bucks’ trade with Cavs, sending Sam Dekker to Wizards

Cleveland acquired the scrappy guard Friday in a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks, who also parted with forward John Henson and two draft picks in 2021 for guard George Hill and forward Sam Dekker.

The Cavaliers are getting a 2021 first-round pick from Milwaukee and a 2022 second-round pick from Washington.

Besides the fact that Delly's efficiency has taken a major hit since joining the Bucks, he's also only played 126 games with Milwaukee (not including the postseason) while he played 215 games with Cleveland (not including the postseason).

It was an impressive haul for Hill, although the 32-year-old had averaged 10.8 points and 2.8 assists per game on 51.4 percent shooting from the field and 46.4 percent shooting from three-point range in 13 games with the Cavs, playing a heady brand of basketball that was at times a life raft for a young, learning Cleveland team.

The move comes a little over a week after the Cavaliers traded Kyle Korver to the Utah Jazz for guard Alec Burks and two second-round picks.

In 12 appearances this season, Dellavedova is averaging 1.7 points, 0.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. In addition, Milwaukee will also receive forward Jason Smith from Washington.

Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo praised Hill as "a great point guard" while lamenting the loss of Henson and Dellavedova.

Hill's departure will give rookie guard Collin Sexton, the No. 8 overall pick in this year's draft, more room to grow. "We lost George, which was my vet, so I'll have to talk to Dellavedova and he'll be able to lead me how George led me".

According to Wojnarowski, Milwaukee will save $18 million in salary in the 2019-20 season with the trade.

Dellavedova (6-4, 200) played his first three NBA seasons with the Cavaliers from 2013-2016 and was a member of Cleveland's 2016 NBA Championship team. Henson is averaging 5.6 points and 5.1 rebounds, but he has not played since November 14.

Dekker was in his first season with the Cavs, who got him in an August trade with the Los Angeles Clippers.

The original trade including Cleveland forward Sam Dekker, but he has been rerouted to Washington. He has been out most of this season with a wrist injury.

Henson (6-11, 219), who is in his eighth National Basketball Association season, has spent his entire career with Milwaukee, appearing in 405 games (152 starts) and averaging 7.8 points on.539 shooting, 5.4 rebounds and 1.48 blocks in 20.1 minutes per game.
