NYPD Wants To Return Engagement Ring Someone Dropped In Times Square Sidewalk Grate During Proposal

"We still haven't found our "almost engaged" couple WANTED for dropping their ring in Times Square". It was not how police described it initially; that John had proposed over a grate, and then dropped the ring. " ... Officers rescued it & would like to return it to the happy couple".

NY police have reunited a young couple with their lost engagement ring after an epic search that spanned the globe.

Luckily, the NYPD has managed to retrieve the trinket and are now looking for the couple to give it back.

The NYPD are seeking the public's help in finding the pair in the hope of performing a Christmas miracle by reuniting them with their ring.

On Saturday, police recovered the ring but the man and woman had left without leaving their names or contact information.

Daniella said yes straight away but they both knew the ring wasn't the right size. And when they ended up in Times Square, the ring fell off.

"We would like to thank everyone who shared this story!" the NYPD posted on Twitter. "Help us find them?"

Anthony said "yes" and wore the ring - even though it was too big.

"We were walking back to the hotel".

However, shortly after they touched down in the United Kingdom, a friend contacted them to ask whether they were indeed the couple the NYPD were searching for.

"I couldn't stand the thought of her being without one", Mr Drennan said. Thought was gone forever!
