People were losing the rag watching Emily Atack's trial on I'm A Celeb

After Sunday's opening episode, some viewers labelled her hosting style "wooden" and awkward" while others complained she didn't get involved with enough "banter' with co-host Declan Donnelly.

Ant McPartlin and girlfriend Anne-Marie Corbett have made a decision to jet out of the United Kingdom in order to escape the spotlight as I'm A Celebrity launches for the first time in its 16-year history without the presenting star.

Some 11 million people tuned in for the first episode - up 700,000 on previous year, according to overnight ratings.

Viewers of Monday night's I'm A Celebrity will see Emily try to win stars for camp as she navigates around hundreds of snakes in underground chambers.

It was the biggest overnight audience for any channel so far this year, excluding the World Cup, according to ITV.

We're only a handful of shows in and already there have been reports saying new host Holly Willoughby, who is stepping in for Ant McPartlin this series, could be facing the axe.

This year's line-up includes The Chase star Anne Hegerty, actor John Barrowman and football manager Harry Redknapp.

A final challenge was won by the red team after they successfully picked up their jungle gear from a pontoon in the middle of a lake faster than their rivals. They're all friends and he's certain she'll be great - he'll be rooting for them all'.

I'm A Celebrity. Get Me Out Of Here! returns tomorrow on ITV at 9pm.

An animal rights charity has slammed ITV's "I'm a Celebrity.' following Emily Atack's Bushtucker Trial which they claimed involved the "bullying" of snakes".
