Rockets Statement on Carmelo Anthony

Trae Young is confident he will have a great career

The Houston Rockets have officially announced that they're parting ways with veteran forward Carmelo Anthony, following a brief stint in which Melo only appeared in 10 games.

Anthony was originally the third overall pick by Denver in the 2003 NBA Draft and is a 10-time All-Star.

With Carmelo Anthony contemplating his future in the National Basketball Association after parting ways with the Rockets, Allen Iverson spoke to Shams Charania of The Athletic about the developing situation, saying there's "no way" his former teammate and close friend should retire.

Houston thought he could be the piece it needed to finally get past Golden State and win its first championship since back-to-back titles in 1994-95.

The hot takes are everywhere, and the consensus viewpoint paints Anthony as a victim of his selfishness.

Per ESPN, the Rockets do not plan to immediately release Anthony.

Green was also suspended by the Warriors for their game against the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday for "conduct detrimental to the team" for the role he played in an on-court argument with teammate Kevin Durant. "It just wasn't a fit".

The 34-year-old, however, has an open invitation from the Puerto Rican basketball association, who are more than willing to welcome him into the fold.

'In the summer we tried to hit a home run and it didn't work out, ' coach Mike D'Antoni said. "He tried everything he could".

I think the Spurs' coaching staff and front office are superior to Oklahoma City's and Houston's, but can they really create that much better of a situation for him to succeed? I will live with that because it works in my favour to the good as my résumé speaks and this team résumé speaks, more so than it doesn't.

The Celtics' effort spoiled a great night by Leonardhad 31 points, 15 rebounds, four assists and three steals for the Raptors, who fall to 12-4 but still lead the Eastern Conference.

Granted, league-leading-scorer Steph Curry is out with a groin strain, but the Warriors have three other reigning NBA All-Stars, they are coming off a 21-point loss at Houston and the public embarrassment of the Draymond Green-Kevin Durant tiff.

"Draymond may not have had his best night tonight, but I liked his approach", Kerr said.
