For photography, the OnePlus 6T comes equipped with a dual rear camera setup with a combination of a 16MP Sony IMX376K primary sensor (1.22µm pixel size, OIS, EIS, and f/1.7 aperture) and 20MP Sony IMX 519 secondary sensor (1.0µm pixel size and f/1.7 aperture) for depth information. This phone offers some relatively new innovations such as Screen Unlock, an optical in-display fingerprint scanner.

The battery has been bumped up to 3700 mAh also, a significant improvement over the 6's 3430 mAh, which also happened to the largest that OnePlus has ever put in a smartphone. However, you can use it on OnePlus 6 running stock OxygenOS with latest android Pie OS.

The OnePlus 6T retails for $549, but for a limited time T-Mobile is offering it for $300.

Three different models will be available with varying storage capacities. First, we all know that OnePlus phones are almost as good as flagship iPhones in every department but cost only half as much. Power users will appreciate the additional RAM when it comes to gaming or heavy multi-tasking. The phone will be available in Mirror Black and Midnight Black colors and will go on pre-orders from 1st November.

OnePlus 6 vs OnePlus 6T vs Pocophone F1 Comparison - The New Midrange Flagship Killer? Notably, you have to place your finger in a specific position on the screen; the entire screen isn't a giant fingerprint reader, as some might assume. The company described it as "Screen Unlock" and claimed that it was the fastest in-display fingerprint sensor out there. This is a great feature to include to the device since people's thumb naturally lands on the bottom part of the smartphone anyway. If notches are a reality of modern day phones, you might as well make it as small as possible, right? Notably, however, there is no wireless charging so you'll still need to rely on a wire for juice.

In an earlier blog post, CEO Pete Lau had explained that the company had tried to implement the feature on the OnePlus 5T, but it struggled with accuracy.

The Chinese smartphone upstart, now being carried by all the major United Kingdom mobile phone networks, said that the phone is "water resistant for every day use" but does not provide an industry standard IP rating. "And those are all costs that we pass along to the consumers". This is because, as of Android Pie, the Recents app overview is built into the Launcher application alongside OnePlus' gestures.

Lau sees an opening for the company as the world heads into 5G.

While the phone is a massive upgrade from the OnePlus 6, it's taking a step forward or backward too, depending on who you ask.

The U.S. market is very "carrier driven and the market is very much flagship focused", Lau says, hoping that by continuing to expand in the U.S., it can become the "third option" to Apple and Samsung, particularly as flagship phones continue to get more expensive.

OnePlus co-founder, Carl Pei, pointed out: "We have always seen a high demand in the United Kingdom for OnePlus products, so we're pleased to be working with - a partner who holds the same vision as us - to offer people more quality choice".
