The back four pretty might not change, with Sarri clearly defining the roles of first-team regulars and fringe players who will largely feature in cup competitions.

The Maurizio Sarri side will welcome Crystal Palace as they look forward to continuing their impressive unbeaten start to the 2018-19 season.

Drinkwater, a £30 million signing from Leicester City in the summer of 2017, has not featured in any competition for Chelsea since the Community Shield in August and Sarri suggested that the England worldwide will not be playing for him any time soon.

However, footballlive.ng can report that, while Sarri has stopped short of saying anything about the next line of action for Moses, despite the gaffer speaking at length over one of the winger's rivals, Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

"The situation is that Drinkwater for me is not suitable for a midfield with two midfielders", Sarri said.

"Technically he is very good and I think if he wants to play like a midfielder he has to improve in the defensive phase".

"I don't know; they have to improve, but the characteristics are a little bit different", Sarri said this week when asked whether the duo have futures at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea lie third in the Premier League after 10 matches, only two points behind defending champions Manchester City and Liverpool, and are yet to taste defeat after scoring 24 goals and conceding just seven.

"The situation is unsafe", Sarri said.

The current Blues manager will presumably target the Carabao Cup or the Europa League as competitions that Chelsea FC can win in the current campaign.

"I think that here I have been lucky. Of course if you look to December, January, you'll need to change also for the Premier League, because there will be matches every three days". It is unsafe to not have continuity, we need to improve continuity.
