Chelsea boss Sarri announces Loftus-Cheek loan decision

Eden Hazard injury update is dreadful news for Crystal Palace

Why Chelsea's generosity to Frank Lampard may come back to haunt them

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has ruled out Ruben Loftus-Cheek leaving the club on loan in the January transfer window.

He proved out on loan with Crystal Palace last season what most Chelsea fans already knew, which is that he deserves to be in the senior set-up.

However, with the wealth of options available in midfield, his hopes of becoming a first-team regular haven't really materialised yet, with the England worldwide only making six appearances so far this season, and is yet to start a Premier League game. The summer signings of Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic forced Loftus-Cheek further down the pecking order in an over-subscribed Chelsea midfield. "He played very often in the last seven or eight matches".

Loftus-Cheek was struggling to get in the Chelsea team at the start of the campaign, but made four appearances in October and is impressing Sarri with his form.

Loftus-Cheek is yet to start a Premier League match this season, although he recently hit a hat-trick against BATE Borisov in the Europa League.

"In the past I think Chelsea wanted that striker who was a very physical target man, the Didier Drogba type".

Cesc Fabregas has had to play a supporting role since his return from injury, but scored the victor in a 3-2 League Cup thriller over Derby County on Wednesday.

Chelsea assistant manager Gianfranco Zola wasn't happy with the performances of Gary Cahill and Andreas Christensen in our Carabao Cup win over Derby County.

"Cahill was the captain last season".

Jadon Sancho has blazed the trail for young English prospects to leave the comfort of the Premier League's traditional top six behind for more competitive action by turning down a lucrative contract with Manchester City to join Borussia Dortmund.

Manager Maurizio Sarri has now made comments on him that will send supporters insane with joy.
