30 injured after floor collapses at apartment clubhouse in South Carolina

Thirty people have been injured after the floor collapsed during a party in an apartment clubhouse in SC.

More than 30 people were transported to three area hospitals, FOX Carolina reported. Police say none of the injuries were life threatening.

People fell through the collapsed floor into the building's basement, Slann said.

"So everyone was jumping". The beat was about to drop and then the whole floor collapsed.

Clemson University student Larissa Stone told Greenville News that it happened very quickly. "Everyone was trying to climb out". People were bleeding. I had blood on my sneakers. "It was really bad".

News reports cite a Clemson City Police Department news release as saying a call was received around 12:30 a.m. Sunday about the collapse of the floor at an apartment clubhouse.

Partygoers screamed, and those who didn't fall stood around the remaining edges of the floor and stared below in shock.

Thirty people were hurt after a floor collapsed during a house party early Sunday.

A witness said that he heard "a boom".

"It was insane", Pearson said.

In an email, he said: "As you all know there was a party in the clubhouse last night". "I can tell you there was a party". He warned his friends and suggested a retreat to the balcony but the floor collapsed before they could make it. There were injuries. They were not life-threatening.

Dixon said no individuals were entrapped.
