They made that abundantly clear in dominant fashion, beating the Yankees in back-to-back games at Yankee Stadium to officially bring New York's 2018 season to an end.

"He's absolutely awful", Sabathia said. He was bad at first base [in Monday's game]. If caught, Kimbrel could've been removed from the game, but the Yankees never pointed it out to the umpires.

Asked if Hernandez was the reason the Yankees lost, Sabathia replied, "Not at all". "He's a bad umpire".

After managing to outlast the Yankees during a 4-3 nailbiter in the Bronx, the Red Sox didn't play "I'm Shipping Up to Boston" by the Dropkick Murphys in the clubhouse, even though that's what they were going to do following their celebration.

"Throw the ball over the plate, CC", Porcello said when asked about Sabathia's comments. He did the unthinkable and complimented Angel Hernandez in the process.

Hernandez's Game 3 performance at first base was a different story - he was terrible (like, so bad) - but in this case, Sabathia made it too easy for Porcello to call him out. "You gotta get the ball over the white part of the plate and then you get the strikes called".

The 25-year umpiring veteran did not speak to the media following Game 3, but the Major League Baseball provided a statement on his performance.

Hernandez's assignment as home-plate umpire for Game 4 became a talking point after he was criticized for his performance at Game 3 on Monday.
