Wolves And Derby Deserved Results And That's Worrying - Manchester United Legend

Paul Pogba

Pogba has captained United this season in the absence of defender Antonio Valencia

Dimitar Berbatov, the former United striker, believes it is time Mourinho and Pogba settled their differences.

Mourinho has been openly critical of his star midfielder in recent times, saying that his work rate isn't up to standard.

Whether a change of manager would improve United's prospects of keeping Pogba is unclear but it is a moot point for now, with Woodward backing Mourinho.

The Italian giants are the World Cup winner's first choice, however, Juve would have to sell some of their current players in order to make a deal happen, to balance the books and avoid any issues with Financial Fair Play.

While it is not clear what Jose Mourinho told Paul Pogba but the Frenchman was clearly not happy with it and gave a sort of death stare to the manager and even uttered some words.

Barcelona reportedly submitted a bid for Pogba in the summer, but it wasn't a realistic offer - £45m and Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes.

Mourinho took issue with Pogba's performances and dropped him for key games last season, including both legs of the Champions League defeat to Sevilla.

Mourinho made Pogba the most expensive player in history when he signed him from Juventus for £89.3million in 2016, but his form over two completed seasons since returning to Old Trafford has been patchy.

Pogba was a hot topic before and after seeing his team-mates go down 8-7 on penalties after a 2-2 home draw, with Mourinho confirming post-match that the rested midfielder will no long skipper the side in the absence of Antonio Valencia.

The 55 year old's decision to strip Pogba of his captaincy before the match on Tuesday night was another example of his negative approach towards his players.

"The Carabao Cup is not a worry any more - we don't play until next season".

While Mourinho was busy bickering with Pogba in front of the cameras at Carrington, Zidane was all smiles as he and wife Veronique enjoyed a pleasant promenade around London.

"As someone who wants Manchester United to do well, I'm fed up of waking up and seeing these headlines".

Then came Tuesday's penalty-kick ouster vs. Derby County-for which Pogba was a spectator-and Wednesday's subsquent training session.
