Liverpool boss has selection headache ahead of Blues Cup clash

Liverpool and Chelsea are both unbeaten this season and are now first and third in the Premier League respectively.

And after picking up a knock in Chelsea's win over PAOK last Thursday, Pedro may start from the bench.

They then travel to Stamford Bridge at the weekend aiming to preserve their 100 per cent start to the 2018-19 campaign. But Hazard's victor underlines how Chelsea possess one of the biggest talents in the Premier League and a player who decide any game with a moment of brilliance.

Hazard's goal came six minutes minutes after he helped create Emerson Palmieri's equaliser, which cancelled out Daniel Sturridge's 58th-minute opener.

Stunner: Chelsea's Eden Hazard (centre) celebrates with teammates after scoring the winning goal at Anfield.

Klopp's side host Chelsea in the third round of the League Cup tomorrow night.

Jurgen Klopp has made eight changes for tonight's Carabao Cup clash with Chelsea, as Fabinho makes his first start in a Reds shirt.

Although Klopp threw on Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah in the closing stages, an attempt to salvage the tie for Liverpool, Chelsea were able to hold on to claim a big victory.

One player who many supporters will hope to make his full debut on Wednesday night is Fabinho, who has only played one minute of competitive football since joining Liverpool in May. Cahill, for his part, was extremely fortunate Sturridge contrived to miss when inadvertently sent through on goal by his backpass, with Hazard then saving the Blues.

Chelsea made its first substitution three minutes later as Eden Hazard came on for Willian.

- Sturridge has netted 11 goals in his last 11 League Cup appearances.

Liverpool are in the midst of a hard stretch of games which has seen them beat Tottenham Hotspur, Paris Saint-German and Southampton so far, but after the two Chelsea games they will travel to Napoli in the Champions League before hosting Manchester City in a huge Premier League clash.
