"Joker." Opening on a makeup/wardrobe test slate that describes the look as "full white", the footage first shows Phoenix's Arthur standing in a mustard yellow jacket, his hands in his pockets and his disheveled half-mullet hair-do hanging around his unassuming but clearly tired face.
While it is hard to be totally sure it is hair dye and not a lens filter, it appears as though Joaquin Phoenix's hair is green in that short video from Joker released earlier today.
"Camera test (w/ sound)". Phillips teamed up with Scott Silver (8 Mile) to write a script described as an "exploration of a man disregarded by society [that] is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale".
The tentatively titled Joker film is being helmed by Todd Phillips (The Hangover Series) and is set to hit theaters next year. Growing in frequency, the lights turn into a faint projected image of Arthur in Joker makeup before completely replacing him with our first full look at director Todd Phillip's version of the iconic Batman villain. We got a look at the actor in character as pre-Joker "Arthur" earlier in the week.
The Joker standalone is set to hit theaters October 4, 2019.
While fans have only so far seen Phoenix's role come alive in sneak peeks of this origin movie, the film boasts a pretty acclaimed cast.
