McHenry was found on a sidewalk at 5 a.m. above the Major Deegan Expressway at Undercliff Avenue and Boscobel Place in Highbridge in the Bronx area of New York, according to the New York Daily News. Her sister, model and photographer, Maya McHenry, also joined in on the celebrations.
Lyric McHenry, who starred on EJNYC, was found dead from an apparent overdose on a sidewalk in NY on Tuesday. She was wearing a pajama top and no trousers, but had underwear on.
According to the report, McHenry had been celebrating her birthday the night before in New York City.
Lyric posted a snap of her dinner at the Soho Grand Hotel in NY with the caption: "This is where my heart is". McHenry starred on the show as part of the crew of former Rich Kids of Beverly Hills star EJ Johnson, the son of legendary NBA player and current president of basketball operations of the Los Angeles Lakers Earvin "Magic" Johnson.
The final upload, shared approximately three hours before she was found dead, shows her blowing a kiss to camera as a man standing beside her says: 'It's her birthday'.
Last week, Johnson celebrated McHenry's birthday with a loving social media post. Your constant love, respect and companionship gives me the confidence to live my truth every single day and I am so blessed that even as baby divas we recognized the greatness in each other. I love you more than any words or gifts can express!
Before her stint on television, McHenry was a Ron Brown scholar at Stanford University and worked on Barack Obama's presidential campaign when she was just 15 years old.
She went on to work for Complex Networks, and later as a freelance writer and producer.
