Egypt bears as much responsibility for the Gaza Strip as Israel does, an Israeli cabinet minister said on Monday, in remarks that could upset Cairo as it tries to avoid being drawn back into the Palestinian enclave while brokering truce talks there.

Two Palestinians were reportedly injured in the attack in the northern city of Beit Lahia, according to an Anadolu Agency reporter in the area.

"The demands of Ship to Gaza are that the ship with its crew and cargo will be returned to the site of the boarding, and that they will be allowed to go in peace through worldwide and Palestinian waters in accordance to global law", they said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Fatah official Moneer Al-Jaghoub, according to Quds Press, said that "Hamas continues damaging the Palestinian unity and wasting the Palestinians and their cause".

The protests, particularly the launching of thousands of kites and balloons affixed with incendiary devices across the border, have ratcheted up tensions between Israel and Gaza in recent months.

Israel and the United States designate Hamas as a terrorist organisation.

The Israeli navy intercepted a Swedish-flagged activist boat bent on breaching its more than decade-long blockade of Gaza, the second in less than a week, the military said on Saturday.

He noted that the core of the plots is establishing a "pale" entity in the Gaza Strip in return for ignoring all the Palestinian rights.

The official statement after the meeting declared the military to be ready for "any scenario", but provided no indication that Israel was either favoring the ceasefire deal or the alternative, with Transportation Minister Israel Katz said was war.

The most serious such incident was in 2010, when Israeli forces raided a Turkish ship, the Mavi Marmara, that was leading a flotilla to Gaza.
