Here's the major kicker, and what ends up making the Moto Z3 a necessary device for people who want to be on the cutting edge of mobile internet: Motorola told me today that while it's looking into backward compatibility with its 5G Moto Mod, the Moto Z3 is the only phone with confirmed compatibility at the time of this writing. The model also comes with a 5G Moto mod. Between conventional fare like batteries and speakers to more niche accessories like a projector, Shakil Barkat, Moto's VP of Global Product Development, said most of Motorola's Mod bases were already covered. Moto Z3 can be bought for $20 per month for 24 months and Motorola is offering up to $300 off on the phone under its device payment plan. This is a whole generation behind the current batch of flagship Android phones that use the more powerful Snapdragon 845. Ahead of the company's event, the phones were leaked in image renders and specifications on the Android One devices also surfaced online.
Hi. We will not be launching any more moto z's this year. The Android-powered device is slated to go on sale in the United States market on August 16, which will be available on Verizon only. The phone sports a glass cover with aluminum metal frames, and a 2.5D glass design on the front. The Z3 has an aluminium body with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass display just as the Z3 Play. The phone will be available in ceramic black colour variant.
Exclusive to Verizon, this phone will get you a discount on a Moto Mod.
The Moto Z3 combines that processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, though that can be improved by up to another 2TB through the use of a microSD card. However, the battery supports fast charging with Moto's TurboPower solution.
There is no 3.5mm audio jack, but the company is providing a 3.5mm to USB Type-C adapter. There is a fingerprint sensor on the right side and the phone also support face unlock.
Moto Z3 ships with Android 8.1 Oreo.
In the imaging department, the flagship comes with a pair of 12-megapixel shooters on the back, with the secondary camera being a depth sensor/telephoto lens. The phone also comes with a dual LED flash for better picture capture in low-light situations.
The add-on is Motorola's 18th "Moto Mod" accessory, which people can buy to add some sort of hardware boost to the company's relatively cheap smartphones.
