In a confidential January 29 letter to the special counsel leaked to the New York Times in June, two of Trump's attorneys say that the President knew only that Flynn had been interviewed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
However, Trump has repeatedly and angrily claimed witch-hunt by the Democrats and insisted that there was no collusion.
"The president didn't hack", Giuliani said.
"I think they're getting closer to knowing that the truth's going to come out, that there was activities with the Trump campaign in Russian Federation in releasing those hacks and guiding them to the states and the localities where they came from".
President Donald Trump fired off a series of tweets on Sunday lashing out at the special counsel investigation led by former FBI Director Robert Mueller. "That crime is not called collusion in the law books, but illegal campaign contributions by the foreign countries, foreign companies, that would be a crime".
What does this portend for special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation?
But Mr Giuliani was persuaded to continue with the fiery interview at the compromise of being offered some coffee.
THE FACTS: It is correct to say that election collusion isn't a precise legal term. Camerota asked Giuliani about a "contentious business relationship" that Trump claims to have had with Mueller-possibly over a membership dispute the two reportedly had regarding one of Trump's golf properties.
Later, Giuliani phoned in to Fox News seeking to clarify his earlier comments, telling anchor Harris Faulkner that "it's a very, very familiar lawyer's argument that...the alternative, that my client didn't do it, and even if he did, it's not a crime".
According the reports of CNN, the inquiry was commenced in July 2016 when Australian officials had tipped the Federal Bureau of Investigation that George Papadopoulos, who is a former member of the foreign policy advisory panel to Trump's 2016 presidential campaign, informed them about alleged Russian meddling with Hillary Clinton. He said about ten of them feature Cohen and reporters, while another one is a tape of Trump, Cohen and CNN anchor Chris Cuomo.
The other 31 people charged have either pleaded guilty or are Russians seen as unlikely to enter an American courtroom.
