Belgium's goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois reacts after Belgium's forward Eden Hazard scored during their Russian Federation 2018 World Cup play-off for third place football match between Belgium and England at the Saint Petersburg Stadium in Saint Petersburg on July 14, 2018.
Gary Cahill still has a future at Stamford Bridge, says new manager Maurizio Sarri.
Hazard told reporters: "After six wonderful years at Chelsea it might be time to discover something different". According to reports in his native Belgium, Courtois will pen a five-year Real deal worth 12m euros a year, and is now awaiting further developments from the Spanish island of Tenerife.
The Telegraph reported last week that Sarri assured Chelsea before his appointment that he did not hold sexist or homophobic views, and at his unveiling on Wednesday the coach was keen to address the incidents in front of club director Marina Granovskaia and chairman Bruce Buck.
"Clearly we would always like to keep all the strongest players".
"I feel much more a pitch manager, a field manager than a general manager", he said via a translator.
"Then we will have to see how the transfer market goes over the next few days".
Sarri continued: "For me this is a hard challenge, but a fascinating one". Florentino Pérez's interest in a new goalkeeper is no secret after high profile mistakes by Keylor Navas against Juventus and Bayern Munich last season.
Sarri would not respond to further transfer questions, but expressed some doubt over the central midfielders at his disposal.
'I dont want to be influenced by nothing or no-one or judged by people who have seen something.
"I would like to keep them in my squad", he said, when asked about potential approaches for the club's top players.
"Certainly, after this World Cup, I can decide if I want to stay or go, but Chelsea will have the final decision".
"Antonio has reached incredible results here and elsewhere". He is an extraordinary manager.
"It will take some time to build a slightly different way of playing".

Antonio Conte won't be too hurt by the Football Association's reposting of a tweet which disrespected him. "They must not be changed".
Cahill joined Chelsea from Bolton Wanderers in 2012, and has enjoyed plenty of success, winning the Champions League and two Premier League titles during his time in West London.
