Daniels, 39, real name Stephanie Clifford, was arrested at the Columbus, Ohio, strip club Sirens early Thursday morning for allegedly using her bare breasts to slap around patrons, according to a police report.
Avenatti issued a statement on her behalf saying that as a result, her performance at the jiggle joint Thursday night would be canceled.
"Why were undercover officers at her show to begin with???"
Avenatti called the arrest a "complete set up".
"We are highly confident that in the unlikely event that the district attorney proceeds with charges that she will be found not guilty", Avenatti told The Post.
Charging documents obtained by WSYX-TV in Columbus say porn actress Stormy Daniels was semi-nude and allegedly touched some of the patrons' breasts and allowed them to touch her prior to her arrest at a strip club in Ohio.
Daniels, who gained notoriety after suing President Donald Trump following an alleged affair, faces three misdemeanor counts of illegally touching a patron and will be arraigned Friday morning, court records show. Avenatti tweeted. "Are you kidding me?"
"We expect her to be released on bail shortly".
In Ohio, it is illegal for an employee who is "nude or seminude" at a sexually oriented business to be touched by a patron or to touch a patron, with the exception of an immediate family member. "There has to be higher priorities!", he added. "We will fight all bogus charges", Avenatti wrote.
The AP reports that a Columbus police spokeswoman didn't immediately respond to a message seeking comment. "#SetUp #Basta", Avenatti said in a second tweet.
Dailymail.com reached out to Sirens who refused to comment.
She is hoping to have the non-disclosure agreement thrown out on the grounds that it is not valid because Mr Trump never signed it.
She has filed two lawsuits against Trump, who denies he had an affair with her in 2006 and paid her off to keep quiet about it.
He initially said he used his own money to pay Daniels and was not reimbursed by the president.
