Cape Town - The Duke and Duchess stepped out at a reception for the Your Commonwealth Youth Challenge looking chic as ever.

The London Times reported days after the royal wedding that a the queen's senior palace adviser Samantha Cohen was instructed to teach Meghan everything she needs to know about royal life and about being the Duchess of Sussex over the next six months.

Meghan worked as an actress before marrying Prince Harry, so her new found accent could be helped along by her training.

But they looked as close as always as they held hands arriving for the Your Commonwealth Youth Challenge at Marlborough House.

The duchess had her hair in a low bun that displayed a set of gorgeous AU$670 * a href="https://www.shopbop.com/14k-gold-three-diamond-amigos/vp/v=1/1596804335.htm?folderID=13539&fm=other-shopbysize-viewall&os=false&colorId=15065&extid=affprg_linkshare_SB-*2nGiS3mv0Y&cvosrc=affiliate.linkshare.*2nGiS3mv0Y" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" *Adina Reyter diamond earrings.

The fitted mid-length shift is believed to be a nod to her home in California - though the USA is not a member of the Commonwealth - and is by American designer Brandon Maxwell, who used to be Lady Gaga's stylist.

It was the first time she's worn a dress by a male designer since becoming a royal.

Meghan and I are incredibly excited to meet so many of you representing the future of the Commonwealth.

According to Kensington Palace, the event is the "culmination of the Commonwealth's youth leadership workshop". "But if I became British royalty you'd see me day 2 saying pip pip cheerio", a social media user tweeted.

This will mark Harry and Meghan's first official visit to Ireland; they visited Northern Ireland in March, two months before marrying.

"I am really looking forward to Prince Harry and Meghan (Markle) coming to Dublin and I think they are going to be made very welcome", the Taoiseach said.

Markle married Prince Harry on May 19, 2018, at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.
