Will The Sixers Realistically Attract Any Prime Free Agents?

Teammate Enes Kanter provided quite the edgily joking answer, sharing an image of Adam Silver in a Warriors uniform and claiming that the National Basketball Association commissioner himself had signed with Golden State. Teams need multiple All-Star caliber players to be true contenders and with LeBron James officially in the fold, the question now for the Los Angeles Lakers is who will be the team's next superstar. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski says the deal is for one year, $5.3 million.

Chris Haynes of ESPN reports that Cousins chose the Warriors over the Celtics. The Lakers were able to start out their offseason with a home run, as they have signed LeBron James to a four-year deal. The Lakers, however, are a team that Cousins expressed interest in being traded to during his latter years with the Sacramento Kings.

Cousins is recovering from an Achilles injury that will likely keep him out until at least December. But still, if he does make a full recovery, we're looking at a starting lineup of Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and DeMarcus Cousins. The Warriors have mostly argued their intensity provides more long-lasting benefits than short-term consequences. "The people in the front office are going to make the best decision for the team or whatever they feel is the best decision". Free agency began at 12:01 a.m. Sunday. To help replace the Cousins void, the Pelicans agreed to a two-year deal worth about $18m with former Lakers big man Julius Randle, who will now pair with his fellow Kentucky product Anthony Davis in the New Orleans frontcourt.

The Pels lost two starters and replaced them with free agents such as four-year point guard Elfrid Payton and fifth-year forward Julius Randle, a former Kentucky star recruited by Pels star and fellow United Kingdom standout Anthony Davis.

The Warriors made a steeper investment on that down payment, throwing opposing teams scrambling on how to bolster their roster. The Warriors will just have to get by with their four All-Stars before they can introduce a fifth into their lineup.
