Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins also returns for the sequel, which picks up with the titular superhero in the 1980s, when she faces an all new enemy - The Cheetah.
This photo comes after some other "first look" photos that were previously shared for the movie, including an intriguing one of Steve Trevor!
Taking to Twitter, Gal Gadot posted the shot with the simple caption: 'She's back...'
Now the sequel, "Wonder Woman 1984", is in production with a planned release late next year.
Another photo from the set that began to circulate online had fans drawing a comparison between Gadot's outfit and one Carter wore while in character on the show.
Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Patty Jenkins, Stephen Jones and Gal Gadot are producing the film.
Wonder Woman 1984 is filming in Alexandria, Virginia and so far, we've seen Chris Pine rocking a fanny pack, Diana Prince in some business outfits, and some break dancers.
Director Patty Jenkins recently confirmed the title of the new movie and she also revealed some shock news - Chris Pine will be reprise his role as Steve Trevor despite dying in the first movie. While we've seen quite a bit from the set, we still have not seen any pictures of Kristen Wiig, which will more than likely be kept under wraps, or at the very least, the pictures of her in full costume and makeup will be kept secret. Other details are largely still under wraps - the movie is set for release on November 1, 2019, so that's no surprise.
