At this morning's press conference, Gardner said that she faced both praise and criticism for bringing the two cases against Greitens.
"The last few months have been incredibly hard for me, for my family, for my team, for my friends, and many, many people that I love", he said, saying he was the victim of "legal harassment".
April 20 - St. Louis prosecutors charge Greitens with a felony of tampering with computer data for allegedly disclosing The Mission Continues' donor list to his political fundraiser in 2015 without the permission of the St. Louis-based charity. He has said he is innocent, called the relationship consensual and said he was the subject of a political witch hunt. "I think this is the governor of dark money and this is the catalyst for the people of Missouri to say this is enough and they're going to demand the dark money get cleaned up".
Greitens' attorney Jim Martin acknowledged reaching out to Gardner to resolve the issue.
Less than two weeks ago, the legislature began meeting in special sessions to consider impeachment proceedings against him.
"The state's economic growth lags the U.S. Also there are going to be phased in income tax cuts so it may be more hard to balance the budget", Cure said.
A judge gave the governor's political non-profit group, A New Missouri, until Friday to turn over communications between it and Mr Greitens' office.
Since Greitens' resignation isn't effective until Friday, the governor still has a lot of power over more than 100 pending pieces of legislation. "If Mr. Greitens were convicted of this charge, it would be unlikely that he would be sentenced to prison given his first-time offender status and the type and level of the charge he face". A House investigatory committee had subpoenaed Greitens to testify next Monday during a special monthlong session focused exclusively on his potential discipline.
The state constitution lays out an order of succession in which Lt. Gov. Mike Parson, who was elected separately, will take over for his fellow Republican.
The woman's then-husband released a secretly recorded conversation in which she described the affair. The report aired shortly after Greitens delivered his State of the State address.
"I will always be a fighter for the people of Missouri. But I have not broken any laws or committed any offence worthy of this treatment", he said.
"I will let the fairness of this process be judged by history", he said. After being wounded in Iraq, he founded a veterans' charity and became a best-selling author and motivational speaker.
Kim Gardner will make the announcement at 10:30 a.m.at the Carnahan Courthouse in St. Louis. The investigation led to a felony indictment in February on invasion of privacy, accusing Greitens of taking an unauthorized and compromising photo of the woman.
