Political stars gather for Lalu's son's wedding

No decision yet on Lalu Yadav's parole plea for son's wedding, says Jharkhand Police

Lalu Prasad Yadav granted 3 days parole to attend elder son's wedding

Among those who attended the event were LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan, RLSP chief Upendra Kushwaha, rebel JD (U) leader Sharad Yadav, former UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav and his wife Dimple Yadav, Bihar Governor Satyapal Malik and senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh.

Talking about the high-profile wedding ceremony, around 50,000 guests are expected to attend the function at the sprawling veterinary college ground in Patna.

Lalu's family assumes Aishwara's arrival as a bride in its family as very lucky. Lalu and Rabri accompanied Tej in his vehicle. With the political heavyweights descending to Patna for blessing Tej Pratap, the uncommon sights and sounds will surely be highlighted. She is the daughter of RJD MLA Chandrika Rai. The mandap was decorated with yellow and pink curtains, coconut fronds and banana trees.

While Lalu warmly shook hands with Nitish, Rabri Devi also exchanged greetings with the Chief Minister. More than 150 cooks from Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and different districts in Bihar prepared 80-odd exquisite dishes for the guests.

Lalu Prasad was admitted to RIMS on March 17 following complaints of uneasiness when he was lodged in the Birsa Munda Central Jail, where he is serving a jail term since December 23, 2017 in connection with the fodder scam.

Tej Pratap Yadav, the oldest of the nine siblings, is now an first-time lawmaker and was a health ministry before last July, once Nitish Kumar dropped the RJD and formed a new government with the BJP.

Intekhab Alam was returning from the Tej Pratap Yadav's wedding on Sunday along with Ikramul Haq Bagi and RJD's Dighalbank Block Chief Pappu when the Scorpio in which they were travelling rammed into a truck near Pothia Bazaar in Simraha.
