US Lawmakers Nominate Trump For 2019 Nobel Peace Prize

House Republicans nominate Donald Trump for Nobel peace prize

Rep. Jenkins nominates President Donald Trump for Nobel Peace Prize

This may come as a surprise to most, but as long as you have the right people backing you, the rules for a Nobel prize nomination are relatively loose.

Kim and President Moon Jae-in of South Korea held a historic summit at the border village of Panmunjom in the Demilitarized Zone on April 27.

The Nobel Committee does not publish the list of nominations for the peace prize. Messer explained, "The peace through strength approach to national security is delivering results, not just in North Korea". The Prize Committee has not announce the nominees. Trump on May 1 said it was "disgraceful" that questions the special counsel would like to ask him were publicly disclosed, and he incorrectly noted that there were no questions about collusion. One of the main bones of contention between him and his two main opponents, the congressman Todd Rokita and the businessman Mike Braun, is over which candidate is most dedicated to supporting Trump. "It was a big problem, and I think it's going to work out well". On Monday, South Korea's president, Moon Jae-in, said he felt the same.

The president's fans clearly feel the same, with the crowd at a rally in MI last Saturday chanting "Nobel, Nobel" as the president discussed the situation in North Korea. "I want to get it done".

All the signs from the inter-Korean summits and Kim's talks with China point to a positive, real peace push - but no real work has been done yet.

President Trump plays golf just under once every five days on average, according to a count by the Washington Post from March this year.

Eighteen of Donald Trump's greatest supporters in the House of Representatives have sent a letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, formally nominating the President for a Nobel Peace Prize.

A decade after Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize, could his White House successor Donald Trump follow suit for navigating the thorny North Korean nuclear standoff?

The letter, led by Rep. Luke Messer, nominated President Trump for his work in ending the Korean War, which the Koreas have said will be declared later this year, and denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula, another effort leaders from North and South Korea said is to take place.

But backers occasionally reveal their choice of nomination for the award, as is the case with Trump's 2019 recommendation.
