Khamenei: US Treasury Department turned into "war room" against Iran (UPDATE)

He underlined that Iran, under the leadership of the late Imam Khomeini and Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has not feared animosities over the past 40 years. He then warned that if the USA or any of its allies decide to attack the Islamic Republic or its bases, their actions will be met with a "much stronger response". The Syrian state media said that the military bases were targeted in a missile strike launched by an unspecified enemy.

Two conservative media outlets, Fars News Agency and the Tasnim News Agency, both believed to be linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, reported that an "informed source" rebutted the stories that ran in the Western media that Iranian military advisers were killed in the attack.

After airstrikes against military bases in Syria on April 30, Iranian sources denied that any of its soldiers were killed in the attack.

Iran's supreme leader on Monday hit out at the United States a day after new Secretary of State Mike Pompeo visited Riyadh, accusing Washington of trying to stoke a "regional crisis" by provoking its ally Saudi Arabia to confront Tehran.

Appearing to address those remarks, Khamenei said Iran had no intention of limiting its influence in the Middle East.

The US is seeking a way to evade the costs of standing against Iran and place them on regional countries, Ayatollah Khamenei said, reminding certain regional countries that if they confront Iran, "they will definitely suffer blows and defeat". Khamenei then said that "for this very reason", the U.S. should leave the Middle East. "Because they want to turn Muslims against one another", Khamenei tweeted. "Everywhere they [the US] set foot, they... bring misfortune to the people", he added.

"Their plan is to arm and prepare these countries for confrontation with the Islamic Republic", Khamenei said, adding that if these countries have any common sense, they will not engage in a conflict with Iran.

The Iranian administration has the duty to support Iranian-made products and remove the banking, insurance and tax obstacles, the Leader added, explaining that support for Iranian manufactures will reduce unemployment and prevent many other social and security consequences.
