After a long wait, the Moody Blues have moved into rock's rarest room.

Simone was a leader in pushing for civil rights and influenced everyone from Aretha Franklin to Alicia Keys. R&B superstar Mary J. Blige welcomed Simone into the Rock Hall, and R&B singer Andra Day performed in her honor.
A classically-trained pianist, Simone is often referred to as "The High Priestess of Soul". He said he always protected Simone, and continues to do so. "Not just this year, but the two previous years that we didn't get in", he joked. She died in self-exile in France in 2003. Her brother, Sam Waymon, accepted the honor on his sister's behalf.
The ceremony's weekend started on Friday at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.
As cleveland.com pointed out, the songs aren't technically being inducted into the Hall, but will have a special display at the museum. Howard sang a Tharpe track with backing from Questlove of the Roots on drums and Felicia Collins from The Late Show with David Letterman band on guitar. There was no performance following the band members' speeches.
Warm weather brought hundreds of people to East Fourth Street several blocks away from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to experience live music and food and beverages on Friday.

Tharpe died in 1973 at the age of 58, but her music lives on and is being appreciated by a new generation just learning of her legacy. And then at one point he said "sorry gotta go". They did Saturday in New Jersey, where the governor declared it "Bon Jovi Day" in honor of the state's newest Rock & Roll Hall of Famers.
Asked about the possibility of a further reunion, Jon said: 'I think Richie's got a solo career, you know?
When Jon hit the stage, he shared that he's been writing this acceptance speech for years.
Sambora left Bon Jovi in 2013 and Such in 1994.
The 2018 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will air May 5 on HBO and will also be heard on SiriusXM Radio. This year marked the band's third nomination; Brandon Flowers, of The Killers, will induct the band. "He referenced a new Rock Hall Induction category noting six influential songs, including Link Wray's Rumble", Chubby Checker's "The Twist" and Steppenwolf's "Born to be Wild".

The final set came from fellow new inductees the Moody Blues, who were inducted by the returning Ann Wilson. Band members Jon Bon Jovi, David Bryan and Tico Torres reunited with former bandmates Richie Sambora and Alec John.
Bon Jovi and The Moodys have been eligible for the induction for quite some time now.
The jovial evening ended with members of the band singing "Inducted!"
The Early Influences Award for guitarist Rosetta Tharpe was presented by Alabama Shakes' singer-guitarist Brittany Howard.
