During that storm, Central Park saw 5.5 inches of snow blanket the area, making it the snowiest April day since 1982. Overnight lows were expected to dip into the upper 30s.
Heavy snow early Monday in the Helena area dissipated by the afternoon, resulting in smaller accumulations than many parts of the state received.
The National Weather Service posted a winter storm warning for a large area stretching from southwestern Minnesota east through central Wisconsin and into northeastern MI. "Snow levels will be rising and rain on high-elevation snow will enhance snowmelt characteristics through Saturday morning".
