Kane picked up the ankle injury in Spurs win over Bournemouth just before the global break.
Kane, 24, injured the ankle in Spurs' victory against Bournemouth on March 11, preventing him from featuring in England's friendlies against Netherlands and Italy during the recent global window.
However, his manager said the 24-year is making good progress and could make a return for Sunday's match with Chelsea.
"He is doing well and improving every day", Pochettino told a news conference.
He said: "We need to assess him". It's hard now to say yes or no. I can not give opinions about a context that I wasn't there [for].
"But the most important [thing] is that we are so positive about his recovery, and we are doing fantastic, and we are so happy", Pochettino said.
"After Bournemouth everybody believed it would be a long period out, but the resolution has been fantastic".
"I think to compare with Arsenal, it is similar in everything".

Fourth-placed Tottenham now occupy the final qualification spot and sit five points ahead of Chelsea with eight games left this season.
"It will be a very tough game and they are always a tough team to compete with".
"Of course, [it's] always not only advice, [it] is talk [aimed at] trying to help the players, to help the players when they need to be pushed".
"But, for us, three points for us will be fantastic". There is a small possibility [of him playing against Chelsea].
