NFL Rumors: Dolphins To Release Ndamukong Suh As Part Of 'Culture Change'

In 2015, the Miami Dolphins made defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh the highest-paid defensive player in National Football League history, signing him to a six-year deal worth over $114 million.

The person said the Dolphins are also expected to release veteran linebacker Lawrence Timmons.

After getting rid of one of their biggest names on offense, the Miami Dolphins may be ready to move on from one of their top stars on defense.

Timmons' one and only season in Miami was disappointing, to say the least as he finished with his lowest tackle total since 2009 (84).

I should add that his formal release - in terms of availability to other teams - is likely to happen on Wednesday.

If Suh is released as a pre-June 1st player or traded as the same, the Dolphins will eat $22.2 million and save $3.9 million in cap space.

Suh's release is anticipated unless he agrees to a significant contract restructuring, which is unlikely. "Be some exciting news going on". The Dolphins, specifically Adam Gase is trying to change the culture in Miami and that starts with attitude.

Timmons went AWOL before Miami's first game last season and was suspended for the Week 2 game as a result. The Dolphins made the playoffs as a wild-card team in 2016, but are coming off a disappointing 6-10 season.

On Monday, it was confirmed the team would indeed be parting ways with the former #2 overall draft pick. It's been more than a year and a half and two knee surgeries since Tannehill played in a real game, and he'll return to a depleted arsenal and offensive line.

As dominant as Suh has been at times bulldozing his way through offensive lines to apply constant pressure to opposing quarterbacks, everybody knows how much of a headache he can be as well, whether it's from his attitude or "dirty" playing at times on the field.
