Private Turkish plane crashes in western Iran - TV

A Turkish private jet crashed late Sunday afternoon in a mountainous region of Iran due to heavy rain. Sharjah is a neighbouring emirate of Dubai.

The three crew members as well as the eight passengers on board were also identified as female.

Iranian news agency ISNA said on Sunday that emergency crews were attempting to reach the wreckage but were being hampered by the terrain.

Shahr-e Kord is some 370 kilometers (230 miles) south of the capital, Tehran.

Data from the FlightRadar24 website shows that about 80 minutes after taking off the jet rapidly gained altitude and then dropped more than 3,050m (10,000ft) before disappearing off the radar.

The Bombardier Challenger 604 business jet, tail number TC-TRB, owned by Başaran Holding, was carrying the Başaran Holding's heir Mina Başaran who traveled to Dubai on Friday with seven friends to celebrate her bachelorette party.

Turkey's state-run news agency Anadolu quoted a statement from the country's Ministry of Transport, in which it stated that the aircraft had crashed soon after making a call about an unspecified "technical failure". "Clutching a bouquet of flowers, she wore a pair of fluffy pink ears on her head and a denim jacket decorated with an image of an engagement ring and the words "Mrs Bride" and "#bettertogether".

Mina Basaran had been expected to marry Murat Gezer on April 14 at Ciragan Sarayi, a five-star hotel in Istanbul, according to Turkey's Hurriyet newspaper. In another picture, she holds heart-shaped balloons inside the plane.

Last month, all 66 people on board are feared dead after an Iranian commercial aircraft crashed into a mountain in a southern Iran valley this morning (Sunday).

Representatives from Turkey together with relatives of the victims are scheduled to arrive at Shahr-e Kord airport within hours, Jafar Mardani told the Islamic Republic News Agency (Irna).

The last videos posted to her account showed her enjoying a Rita Ora concert at a popular Dubai nightclub.
