Packers trading Damarious Randall to Browns for QB

Report: Browns trade former Notre Dame quarterback DeShone Kizer to Packers

Report: DeShone Kizer heads to Packers in Damarious Randall trade

Acquiring Taylor essentially takes the Browns out of the market for Bengals quarterback A.J. McCarron and sets the table for them to use the first or fourth pick on April 26 on a quarterback. He's the compensation to Green Bay for the trade that will send cornerback Damarious Randall to Cleveland. However, his stock plummeted when he was thrust into the starting lineup after Rodgers suffered a broken collarbone.

Last week at the National Football League scouting combine, coach Mike McCarthy offered a critical assessment of the whole situation - both Hundley and the coaching aspect - when he said: "Brett Hundley wasn't ready for what he needed to be ready for".

He vastly outplayed Brett Hundley who struggled mightily with the Packers for most of his time as the starter, showing a lack of polish and poise. "That's something that we have to learn from, and that stings".

In early 2017, Randall was summarily benched for poor play and an apparent negative attitude with the coaching staff.

The next day, according to multiple sources, several players expressed that they felt Randall should be released immediately for his actions. "He needs to go home and self-evaluate and clean his own house". The latter showed potential as a man-coverage corner as a rookie, performing so well he pushed Casey Hayward into the slot before Hayward left Green Bay for the Chargers.

Randall was the 30th overall pick in 2015 and 10 interceptions in 39 games, 30 of which were starts.

Those questions were answered not long after.

Conversely, Green Bay has a history of dominant signal-callers such as current starter Aaron Rodgers, from whom Kizer will receive proper tutelage. Their depth chart now consists of 2017 second-round pick Kevin King, who is coming off shoulder surgery; Quinton Rollins, a 2015 second-round pick coming off a ruptured Achilles' tendon; and youngsters Josh Hawkins, Lenzy Pipkins, Donatello Brown and Herb Waters. In search of better cornerbacks, help at wide receiver and a new backup quarterback. He can meet with and sign a contract to play for any team in the league.
