Mario is your new copilot on Google Maps for MAR10 Day

Mario Day event starts popping up in Google Maps for some

Mario invades Google Maps to help you avoid bananas while driving

If you aren't sure how Mario ties into Google Maps, remember, his name is a part of the greatest racing franchise of all time - Mario Kart.

In case you weren't aware, tomorrow is National Mario Day.

"As a fun bonus, if you tap on one of those "?" marks within Google Maps 100 times, you will get the familiar "1-UP" sound from the video games.

Back in 2014, Google teamed up with Nintendo to hide Pokemon across Maps.

From now until March 17th, you'll be able to replace the standard Google Maps navigation arrow with 3D image of Mario driving his kart around the streets of the world.

Please do not forget to keep all banana peels inside the vehicle as you and Mario travel to your destination. When it's clicked, a confirmation screen pops up to engage Mario as your own personal navigator-choose "Let's-a-go" to get moving.

Google has invited people to share screenshots of their Kart excursions using the hashtag #MarioMaps on Twitter and Instagram. Google suggests that you avoid throwing bananas or red shells at other drivers on the road. Google says that this Mario integration will be available for one week, so you will have plenty of time to get motorin' with gaming's favorite plumber (sorry, Luigi). What do you guys think about seeing Mario and his Kart on Google Maps? Pull up driving directions like you normally would and look for a suspicious-looking yellow question mark block to the left of the regular Start button.
