And, basically, its founder.
Scheduled for its public debut at Geneva, Jaguar has showcased the I-Pace electric SUV. Don't forget, it's physically a larger vehicle; the I-PACE's "true" Tesla rival will probably be the Model Y crossover, though that's not expected for a few years yet.
The official release was streamed on March 1st, and proved that a long wait paid off.
The I-Pace has some smart systems that help drivers to get the most out of their batteries.
The I-PACE is powered by two electric motors - one on each axle - with a combined 400ps and 696Nm of torque on tap.
Jaguar has unveiled the production version of the all-electric I-Pace SUV, which boasts a range of nearly 300 miles. Will the Jaguar I-Pace come to India?
Owners will be able to achieve a 0-80 percent battery charge in 85-minutes using DC charging (50kW), but the vehicle will also be fully compatible with DC Rapid Chargers (100kW) as the technology is rolled out across the United Kingdom, which will enable a 0-80 percent charge in just 40 minutes.
Artificial intelligence is used to predict the car's range based on your commute, the weather, battery charge status, and your driving style as measured on previous journeys. Jaguar's latest images show the EV undergoing winter testing in Arctic conditions, making the most of its four-wheel drive in temperatures as low as -40 degrees Celsius.
The showdown was performed by Jaguar, as it launched its new I-Pace electric vehicle. It joins Jaguar's growing family of SUVs, alongside the all-new E-PACE and multiple award-winning F-PACE.
I-PACE will also launch an Amazon Alexa Skill.
Jaguar has staged 0-60-0 miles per hour drag races with the Tesla Model X in 75D and 100D guises, and the I-Pace came out as a victor in both cases.
The dash is equipped with a 10-inch display for navigation and music, and a 5.5-inch screen below it for climate controls. Lastly the I-Pace will also arrive with Amazon Alexa Sill, which lets owners ask Alexa for information about their auto. Furthermore, the vehicle makes use of artificial intelligence to enhance the driving experience. A standard glass panoramic roof also makes the interior feel even more spacious.
Inside the spacious interior offers up to 35-inches of legroom for the rear passengers and 25.3 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats up.
Storage in the I-Pace is listed at 1453 litres with the rear seats folded flat, and 656 litres when upright.
Full pricing and specifications will be announced and order books opened for full configurations immediately following the reveal.
With no transmission tunnel, the I-PACE is set up as a five seater and offers nearly three feet of legroom in the rear. The auto was revealed online and will have its first public appearance at the Geneva motor show from March 6.
