Here's an overview of all the devices. Alcatel aims to deliver premium materials on each of the new phones as well; even the sub-$100 1X features a unibody design. Meanwhile, the Alcatel 3 offers 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing camera, 3000mAh battery loaded with Android Oreo.
The 3X and 3V have dual rear cameras for offering a portrait mode, but the 3 doesn't. The device comes with an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera for selfies. There's also a FaceID-style facial recognition unlock feature this time around, called Face Key.
Alcatel 1X happens to be just one of the various variants going by the same name that TCL is showcasing in Barcelona, Spain, but hey, as Android enthusiasts that is all we are asking for, right? Powered by a 1.5 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750, with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, you wouldn't exactly classify it as a powerhouse.
But one model runs full-on Android Oreo. The 3V's primary lens is 12 megapixels to the 3X's 13, and the 3V's secondary camera is 2-MP to the 3X's 5-MP.
Other features include: 3.5mm headphone jack, rear fingerprint sensor, 3,000mAh battery, and Android Nougat 7.1. It will be available in color choices of Spectrum Black, Blue, and Gold.
For those who are thinking that these models lack new features, think again, because among the new models are phones with dual cameras and 18:9 displays.
The CPU has the same amount of cores and clockspeed, and 1GB of RAM... but you're only getting 8GB of onboard storage, which is pretty much useless in this day and age of larger apps. Up front, there's a 5-megapixel sensor.
Every Alcatel 3 Series device features a 3,000mAh battery.
The Alcatel 5 is priced at 220 Euros (~$270) and will come in Metallic Gold and Metallic Black. There's a single 12MP camera sensor on the back to round things out.
Alcatel has kicked off MWC 2018 with a handful of new devices sporting a slim 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone packs 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded.
Based on variants, there is either an 8-megapixel or 13-megapixel rear camera along with a 5-megapixel front camera.
Android Oreo Go edition addresses one of the biggest problems that plague the low-end of the Android smartphone market, which is the fact that customers rarely get the latest version of Android out of the box. It also includes 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage.
